Naval Facilities Engineering Command

Professional Development Center

Professional Development Center (PDC)

The Professional Development Center (PDC) program serves as the primary source to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce needed for professional and administrative occupations throughout NAVFAC. The program is designed for recent college graduates, veterans or individuals changing careers, and provides a structured, two to three year development program that includes formal education and training, diverse rotational assignments, extensive on-the-job training, and challenging work assignments.

The PDC program also uses the Department of Navy Pathways Recent Graduates Program to hire individuals who have graduated recently from qualifying educational institutions or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply within 2 years of degree or certificate completion, except for veterans who are excluded from doing so due to their military service obligation, who will have up to 6 years after degree or certificate completion. Successful applicants will be placed in a dynamic, career development program.

Positions are located throughout the United States, primarily in California, Florida, Guam, Hawaii, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

This two to three-year, paid program will provide you with the opportunity to become a skilled civilian employee, ready to aid in NAVFAC’s continued success. After completion, you’ll have what it takes to be a well-rounded, high-performing, acquisition professional. As a PDC entry level employee, you’ll find:

  • Full-time developmental jobs in various career fields
  • Structured career planning
  • On-the-job and classroom training
  • Rotational assignments at different locations
  • Progress reviews
  • Opportunity to participate in advanced degree college programs
  • Option to earn special acquisition certifications
