EXPLANATION OF FEES FOR ASBESTOS/INSULATION RATES
Asbestos Abatement is billed on level of effort ($72.20/hr) plus the cost of disposal of asbestos. There is a Special Asbestos rate designed for clients at Industrial Sites ($83.00) plus the cost of disposal of asbestos. In addition to disposal costs for large jobs the fees assessed by DRMO for the placement of dumpsters on-site are charged to the client. Disposal of wastes generated is based on the actual costs of disposal via the DRMO contract line item.
Insulation is billed on level of effort ($69.00/hr) plus the cost of materials (new insulation).
The asbestos abatement commodity provides controlled removal and encapsulation of friable and non-friable asbestos for jobs in the Emergency, Service, and Minor work categories produced by both shipboard (disposal operations for Naval ships only) and land-based operations. Asbestos can be found in many common construction materials like roofing, floor tiles, siding, caulking, soundproofing, decorative, fireproofing, insulating materials, etc.
Asbestos Abatement has a variety of methods to render the environment asbestos fiber free and range in complexity from simple glove bag, to mini-enclosures, to encapsulation, and to full containment.
The Asbestos Shop provides compliant asbestos disposal services in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations, for all activities in the Hampton Roads Area.
The commodity provides well-trained insulators that are certified as asbestos worker/supervisor.
Several employees are trained in asbestos sample collection and in air quality monitoring.
Insulators provide for repair and replacement of damaged insulation as well as new insulation installation services.
Our Insulators are well trained and have a wide range of skilled workers from full mechanics, to limited mechanics and to insulation helpers.
