Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic has postponed its scheduled March 15 Career Fair at the Chesapeake Conference Center, 700 Conference Center Drive, Chesapeake, Virginia, out of an abundance of caution associated with COVID-19, commonly referred to as coronavirus.
The command will instead continue to actively recruit via electronic channels.
“The decision to postpone our career fair was not taken lightly,” said NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic Commanding Officer Capt. Richard Hayes. “While we certainly have many positions to fill, our top priority remains the health and well-being of our professionals and their families. This extends to the professionals we hope to bring on at NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic.”
Though the in-person event has been postponed, active recruiting to fill open positions will continue. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their resumes to NAVFAC_MLHRO@navy.mil in order to be vetted by hiring officials.
“Though we’re disappointed to not meet applicants in person this week, applicants can trust that the recruitment is an active, ongoing process,” said NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic Human Resources Director Rebecca Rowe. “Each application will receive confirmation of receipt and a host of hiring officials will shepherd viable candidate packages through selection boards.”
