Captain Burr Vogel is a native of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. In 1995, he was commissioned from Officer Candidate School after earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also has a Master of Science Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Following completion of Civil Engineer Corps Officer School, Vogel’s first duty station was at Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland where he served in the Public Works Department. Subsequent tours included Engineering Field Activity Midwest, Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (OICC) Crane, Indiana; Amphibious Construction Battalion 1; Public Works Center San Diego, Flag Housing Officer; 20th Seabee Readiness Group, TOA Readiness Manager Gulfport, Mississippi; OICC Katrina, Resident OICC, Keesler Air Force Base Biloxi Mississippi; Chief of Naval Operations Staff, Shore Readiness Division; and Public Works Officer at Naval Support Activity Bethesda and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington, Washington D.C.; Operations Officer NAVFAC Hawaii; Public Works Officer at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and NAVFAC Hawaii; and Deputy Commander for Operations, NAVFAC
He reported aboard NAVFAC Washington in July 2019 as the Executive Officer.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana, Seabee Combat Warfare qualified, and is a Member of the Acquisition Corps.
