Norfolk, Va. (NNS) -- The holiday seasons bring images of family homecomings, decking the halls, and the preparation of special meals. Although it may not be at the forefront of the minds of holiday revelers, this is also the season to think “safety.” Historically a heightened focus on safety comes as a reaction to some tragic event. In an effort to get ahead of this, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic is implementing a preemptive safety stand down plan targeting times of increased mishaps.

Norfolk, Va – The Vieques Environmental Restoration Team of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic (NAVFAC Atlantic) completed a clean sweep of environmental awards for 2018. The team received Environmental Restoration, Individual/Team Awards from the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations for their management of cleanup operations at the former Atlantic Fleet Weapons Training Area in Vieques, Puerto Rico. This marked the 2nd time the team has achieved this triple recognition in the past two years.
NORFOLK, Va. –Four Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic teams were honored for their accomplishments by Rear Adm. Darius Banaji, Commander, NAVFAC Atlantic on April 13, 2018. The 2017 Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic Gold and Silver awards were presented to the top Process Improvement and Product and Service teams.
