Lt. Cmdr. Christian Auger, Michael Ishibashi, and Cecille PeƱaflorida were recognized recently as Naval Facilities Engineering Systems (NAVFAC) Command Far East military, civilian, and host-nation engineers of Fiscal Year 2021, respectively. PeƱaflorida is the first female and architect to receive the Host-Nation Engineer of the Year award.

Kimberly Granville, formerly the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Far East Facility Support Contracts Product Line director, was recently named the 2020 Defense Acquisition Workforce Awards Program Manager of the Year in the in the Facilities Engineering category.

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Far East officials along with Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka officials broke ground on a new pier between Berths 2 and 3 at Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka Aug. 21.
The $128 million project was awarded April 14 and is scheduled to be complete in September 2022.
