  • Public Works Department Kitsap production crews replaced a sewer lift station pump servicing the ammo pier at Naval Magazine Indian Island (NMII) Dec. 9. The project had support from the Bangor electrical shop, Bremerton mechanical shop and NMII personnel.
  • The Public Works Department Everett production team at Naval Station Everett replaces a sewer lift station pump Dec. 30.
  • Public Works Department Whidbey Island replaced legacy eight carbon based Aqueous Film-Forming Foam with a more recently-manufactured AFFF product which is a six carbon based variant, intended to be less hazardous to health/environment.  This contract will replace Fire and Crash Trucks and three hangers.
  • Engineering Technician Miki Tucker and High Voltage Electrician Justine Tambou conduct an outage, sampling transformers and performing infrared scans on the main power distribution system on board Naval Station Everett.


NAVFAC Northwest receives acquisition excellence award

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest received the Department of the Navy Office of Small Business Sarkis Tatigian Award for outstanding small business contracting achievements Nov. 5.

“Awarding these contracts are a means to effectively leverage the innovation, agility, and capabilities of small business to enhance warfighter lethality and maintain military readiness,” said U.S. Navy Capt. Ben Miller, NAVFAC Northwest commanding officer.
