PEARL HARBOR – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded today a $7.5 million indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract to InSynergy Engineering Inc., a small business from Honolulu, Hawaii, for architect-engineer services for various utility systems and energy studies throughout the Pacific.
"This contract will provide a supplemental means to study our utility systems throughout NAVFAC Pacific’s area of responsibility (AOR) from the perspective of system reliability, condition, capacity and efficiency,” said Andre Lee, NAVFAC Pacific Public Works Business Line manager. “The Navy’s utility systems include electrical power, water, wastewater, steam, and other industrial utility commodities.”
The work to be performed provides for, but is not limited to, electrical utility system studies, mechanical utility system studies, civil utility system studies and engineering and mapping services for various projects with associated multi-discipline architect-engineer support services. Utilizing the expertise of the small business architect-engineering firm, the Navy expects to improve reliability and efficiencies of the utility systems in support of its mission and operations in the Pacific.
“The Navy is always looking for ways to support the small business community, and we are very pleased to have awarded this architect-engineering contract to a small business firm,” said Jennifer McGuire, NAVFAC Pacific deputy director for small business.
Funds of $10,000 are obligated on this award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Work is expected to be completed by May 2019. The contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website with 11 proposals received.
