JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $7.58 million firm-fixed-price task order under a multiple award construction contract Feb. 27 to JSR-ECC, LLC, a small business of Schertz, Texas, for the design and construction of a Submarine Maneuvering Room Trainer Facility at Ford Island, Hawaii.
“This award is a fine example of our commitment to maximizing the expertise of small businesses in Navy procurements,” said NAVFAC Pacific Commander Rear Adm. Bret Muilenburg. “We are very pleased to partner with a small business firm as we work to enhance operational readiness.”
The work to be performed provides for the design and construction of new interior spaces and renovation of existing spaces to house a submarine S9G Fleet Interactive Display Equipment (FIDE) Trainer and associated support equipment spaces. In addition, work will include renovation of various building improvements needed to support the S9G FIDE Trainer.
Five proposals were received for this task order. Work will be performed on Oahu, and is expected to be completed by October 2016.
