Authorized Inspector Training

GSA-Approved Security Equipment
Inspection Training

GSA-approved security container inspectors must be trained and pass a written exam.  Inspectors may only be trained by MBA USA or Lockmasters Security Institute (LSI).  Inspector authorization is valid for a period of three years after which inspectors must successfully complete an Update course.  The Update course is valid for three years.

Classified National Security Information (NSI) and arms, ammunition, and explosives (AA&E) MUST be stored in a General Services Administration (GSA) approved security container, vault, or other approved secured area.  GSA-approved security containers and vault doors MUST have a GSA approval label on the front of the equipment.  If the approval label is not present, the equipment is not GSA approved.  Even if the approval label is present, there may be a reason to question the product's security integrity.  An inspection by an authorized inspector can resolve those questions.  If a container passes inspection, the inspector can relabel the container or door.

Authorized Inspector Training Organizations

GSA equipment inspections may only be done by authorized inspectors who have successfully completed an inspection training course approved by GSA.  Approved training courses are offered by two training organizations.  For information on GSA approved training, or to locate an authorized inspector near you, contact MBA USA or Lockmasters Security Institute (LSI) at:
