Kaba CDX-10 Door Deadbolt Device (FF-L-2890)

CDX Series Pedestrian Door Deadbolt Devices

CDX-10

The CDX-10 combination deadbolt device consists of an X-10 combination lock mounted on a deadbolt base plate.  It has been GSA approved against Type VI requirements of Federal Specification FF-L-2890C.  This means the lock works with an auxillary deadbolt and has keyless access control.  The CDX-10 is meant for use on standard egress doors in rooms/facilities where there is no regular occupancy.  An example of this would be a telecommunications closet.  It is important to check with your local fire marshal (Authority Having Jurisdiction-AHJ) to determine if this device is appropriate for your situation.

The CDX-10 base plate is surface-mounted to the inside face of the door.  The deadbolt base plate has two essential features.  First, it provides a means of latching the bolt in the retracted position.  This prevents the bolt from being inadvertently extended.  Second, turning a knob on the base plate will retract the bolt to allow egress.

A standard dial ring mounting plate is included with the CDX-10 for your typical door installation; however, a modified dial ring mounting plate is available in applications where the sound seal overlaps the door and prevents the installation of a standard mounting plate.  For ordering information of a modified dial ring mounting plate please contact Lockmasters at (800) 654-0637 for details.

Visit our Pedestrian Door Deadbolt Device Ordering Information page to view the NSN for the CDX-10 lock and information on how to contact DLA.

The CDX-10 comes with a number one strike plate.  If you need a different strike plate, call the DoD Lock Program's Technical Support Hotline at (800) 290-7607 and one can be provided free of charge when your lock is purchased from DLA Land and Maritime (formerly DLA Troop Support).  See the strike plate pictures and diagrams on our Strike Plate page to determine the correct strike plate for your application.

When properly disposing of Kaba Mas CDX-10 locks, they shall be sent to the DoD Lock Program, see our Combination Lock Support page for disposal instructions.

CDX-09

The CDX-09 is no longer manufactured nor available from DLA but is still approved for use on standard egress doors in rooms/facilities where there is no regular occupancy.  An example of this would be a telecommunications closet. It is important to check with your local fire marshal (Authority Having Jurisdiction-AHJ) to determine if this device is appropriate for your situation.  The CDX-09 is still approved for securing classified material.  The CDX-09 lock was tested for DLA and met federal specification FF-L-2890A, Type I, for non-ADA and non-Life Safety.

When disposing of Kaba Mas CDX-09 locks, they can be sent to the DoD Lock Program, see our Combination Lock Support page for disposal instructions.

CDX-08

The CDX-08 combination lock is not presently being manufactured.  The CDX-08 is still approved for securing classified material.  All CDX-08 (and X-08) locks have reached the end of their expected service life.  The DoD Lock Program recommends that activities still using these locks consider replacing them, which is cheaper than experiencing a lockout.  We also do not recommend saving parts from these locks as they should not be repaired.

CDX-07

The CDX-07 combination lock is not presently being manufactured.  The CDX-07 is still approved for securing classified material.  All CDX-07 (and X-07) locks have reached the end of their expected service life.  The DoD Lock Program recommends that activities still using these locks consider replacing them, which is cheaper than experiencing a lockout.  We also do not recommend saving parts from these locks as they should not be repaired.
