SILVERDALE, Wash. (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest has awarded a $10 million firm-fixed-price task order for work on Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton to Nova Group of Napa, Calif., Aug. 23.

The work to be performed provides for the replacement of four main dewatering pump motors, four dewatering pump controllers and wiring to main pump motors that serve the pump well.

The project will repair the existing deteriorated and obsolete electrical service to the pump well and install a new loop feeder substation, providing redundant power to meet current codes and standards.

Ensuring installation readiness to meet fleet requirements is one of Naval Facilities Engineering Command's goals. Contracting the replacement of dewatering pumps which are used to remove water from a dry dock, allowing work to be performed on the exterior of a ship or boat located within that dry dock, is one of many ways NAVFAC supports the warfighter.

This is task order number 0005 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N44255-10-D-5019) for the repair of main dewatering pumps and motors. This task order includes all labor, materials, equipment and associated costs and is expected to be completed by December 2015. Four proposals were received for this task order.
