SILVERDALE, Wash. (NNS) -- BergerABAM located in Seattle was selected by Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest for the Navy's regional waterfront architectural and engineering contract for all naval installations in the Puget Sound area Aug. 14.
"We awarded this contract to BergerABAM because our analysis proved that jointly we can deliver services to our warfighter while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers," said Capt. Chris LaPlatney NAVFAC Northwest commanding officer.
This contract includes a one-year base period and four one-year options for a value not to exceed $30 million. Task orders from this contract may range from $1,000 to $2 million and are primarily for the preparation of design/build projects, plans and specifications for renovation, or new construction. New designs, evaluations, studies for maintenance, construction, quay walls, dry docks, fendering systems, and more, including utilities are included.
The work may also include field evaluations, technical feasibility assessments, design analysis, structural/seismic evaluations, underwater inspections, geotechnical evaluations, cathodic protection, surveying, cost estimating, technical review of contract documents prepared by government employees, and construction support consultation.
This contract may be used throughout Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest area of responsibility which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
