NAVFAC Southwest Awards $8.1 Million for Special Operations Forces Project

SAN DIEGO (NNS) - Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded Reyes Construction Inc. of Pomona, an $8.1 million contract Feb. 6 for design and construction of a support project at the Special Operations Forces Range in the 130 area of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

"This project will provide facilities for safe and efficient training for close quarter combatants," said Lily Pang, NAVFAC Southwest project manager for this project. "These new installations, along with existing adjacent trainers, provide the ability to perform a full mission profile essential to develop skill sets for students and directly increase combat readiness."

Reyes Construction Inc. will construct a 9,690 square foot close quarters battle training facility with an adjacent control room and training courtyards at existing Range 130 M-site. Reyes Construction Inc. will expand Range 130 D-site from 50 yards to 100 meters, which will increase capacity from 50 target lanes to 60 target lanes, provide new support facilities, and provide a new 900 square foot (94 square meter) bathroom and laundry facility.

Work will be performed in Camp Pendleton and is expected to be completed by November 2014. Contract funds are provided
