SILVERDALE, Wash. (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest awarded a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award waterfront contract for design-build or design-bid-build construction with a combined maximum dollar value of $99 million to six contractors yesterday.
The six contractors are Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., of Vancouver, Wash.; Manson Construction Co., of Seattle; Marathon Construction Co. of Lakeside, Calif.; Nova Group, Inc., of Napa, Calif.; Triton Marine Construction, of Bremerton; and Watts Construction LLC, of Honolulu. Construction includes marine waterfront facilities located primarily within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest area of responsibility.
"We are excited to have awarded this Multiple Award Construction Contract to these six firms and look forward to using this contract frequently," said Steve Shapro, Chief Contracting Officer for NAVFAC Northwest. "When the Navy uses this waterfront MACC only these six contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract," Shapro went on to say.
The work to be performed provides for new construction, repair, alteration, and renovation. Types of projects include, but are not limited to, piers, wharves, quay walls, bulkheads, sea walls, dry docks, boat ramps, docks and marinas, shore protection, riprap, breakwaters, wave attenuation, mooring dolphins, buoys, primary and secondary fendering, pile driving, sheet piles, and dredging and disposal. Work also includes the design and construction of all utilities and other facilities in the marine waterfront area and/or related to marine waterfront operations to support Navy vessels and port operations.
Work will be performed primarily within Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Work may also be performed in the remainder of the United States. The term of the contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of April 2019.
This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with 10 proposals received.
