Jacksonville, Florida (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast will participate in the Tri-Base Job Fair, presented by the Fleet and Family Support Centers (FFSC) from Naval Station (NS) Mayport, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville and Naval Submarine Base (NSB) Kings Bay on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Morocco Shrine Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

NAVFAC Southeast has hundreds of federal job openings and is recruiting to fill professional jobs such as: engineers (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, industrial and environmental), architects, information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, operational technology, community planners, construction managers, engineering technicians and contract specialists.

“We are seeking to hire now due to current vacancies, our anticipated future workload and projected civilian retirements,” said NAVFAC Southeast Business Director Jeff Killian. “We believe there will be a large pool of well-qualified and experienced candidates at this event to fill many of our vacancies. We have great places for them to work throughout the southeastern United States and in the Caribbean and we would love to find several who would like to come join our team.”

NAVFAC will be hiring for locations throughout the Southeast and focusing their efforts for Kings Bay, Georgia, Key West, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. There are also many vacancies available in the local area.

The command is also seeking to fill blue collar craftsman trades positions such as: Electricians, High Voltage Electricians, Electrical Workers, Carpenters, HVAC Mechanics, Locksmiths, Engineering Techs, Elevator Inspectors, Boiler Inspectors, and certified Wastewater Treatment Operators.

None of the local trades jobs are located in the local commuting area. All are located at other Navy installations across the southeast. “We are prepared to offer relocation money given the right set of circumstances,” said Killian.

This free event is open to active duty personnel, retirees and their families.

“We want applicants to be prepared at the event,” said Killian. “Applicants should bring multiple copies of their resumes, college transcripts and veteran documentation (DD214 and disability paperwork) and be prepared for possible on-the-spot interviews.”

NAVFAC will utilize expedited hiring authority authorized by the Department of Defense in order to quickly fill vacancies. Resumes can be sent in advance of the event to NAVFACSEHiring@navy.mil.
