Camp Lejeune’s Environmental Management Division and Public Affairs Office work with the U.S. Department of the Navy to implement the Camp Lejeune’s community involvement plan (CIP). The CIP describes specific outreach methods to provide factual and timely information to the public, obtain community feedback, and promote understanding of Camp Lejeune’s Environmental Restoration Program (ERP).
The first CIP for Camp Lejeune was developed in September 1990; it was updated in February 1994, January 2005, February 2011, and December 2015. Recommendations for future community involvement activities in the CIP are based on feedback obtained by interviewing members of the local community. The CIP is planned for updating in 2020.
