Background
Naval Air Station Pensacola is located in the extreme Northwest Florida, situated in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties at the Florida/Alabama state line. NAS Pensacola is known as the Cradle of Aviation and was the first site of an established Naval Aviation command during WWI and is home to the world famous Blue Angels.
Naval Air Station Pensacola’s mission is to fully support the operational and training missions of tenants assigned and to enhance the readiness of the U.S. Navy; its sister armed services and other customers, thus, enabling them to meet mission requirements.
Naval Air Station Pensacola employs more than 22,000 military and civilian personnel. Major tenant commands include Naval Aviation Schools Command, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Marine Aviation Training Support Group-21, the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron the Blue Angels and the headquarters for Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), a command which combines direction and control of all Navy education and training.
