Introduction
This Site Management Plan (SMP) provides a summary of response actions and associated documentation to be undertaken at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville according to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986, as implemented by the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), and to the extent practicable the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969.
The requirement for this SMP is identified in the Federal Facilities Agreement (FFA) that was signed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the State of Florida, Department of Environmental Regulation (FDER), now Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), and the U.S. Department of the Navy. The FFA is based on the requirement for an interagency agreement that is identified in Section 120 (e)(2) of the SARA.
The SMP is updated annually.
