NAVFAC's Ocean Facilities Program serves as the U.S. Navy's facilities expert for engineering, maintaining, and installnig ocean, littoral and underwater systems, as well as design and certification of shore based hyperbaric facilities.
The Medical Facilities Program Office is involved with the design of military hospitals, laboratories, ambulatory centers, veterinary facilities, and medical and dental clinics.
The Military Construction Program (MILCON) provides program management, support and oversight of all military construction projects executed by NAVFAC.

The purpose is to reduce total facility ownership costs by standardizing best technical practice, solutions, materials, and processes to support the entire life cycle of Navy and Marine Corps facilities while meeting operational and readiness requirements. Engineering Community Management supports the engineering community with administrative, technical and professional competencies, as well as provides each member of the community with a general career roadmap to help them understand Command expectations and develop personal career strategies to improve their performance.
