Industrial Ergonomics
Ergonomics is essentially fitting the workplace to the worker. It involves applying our knowledge about human capacities and limitations to the design of workplaces, jobs, tasks, tools, equipment, and the environment. An organized ergonomics program is essential in avoiding musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses, and thereby preventing WMSDs, at your facility. An effective ergonomics program follows a team approach, led by top installation management. However, it also requires a commitment by all levels of management and worker involvement.
