Completing the ECA is the first step in the Career Compass program to jump-start your development journey
Completing the ECA helps you understand your top non-technical Strengths and Weaknesses
After completing the ECA, you are in a great position to improve throughout the year
NAVFAC leadership encourages you to participate in the ECA each year.
Leadership will use your results to directly plan future SYSCOM-wide training initiatives
To complete your ECA, rate yourself on each of the 20 non-technical core competencies from “Awareness” (1) to “Expert” (5). Descriptions for each competency are provided. For more information on the competencies, see the Workforce Development Continuum and Section Two of the Community Management Framework (CMF).
The ECA page includes a tab with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that you can view.
You are strongly encouraged to share the ECA results with your supervisor and/or mentors, and seek their candid assessment of your proficiency levels, to gain a full picture of your strengths and areas for growth.
Supervisors can also download a blank copy of the ECA to print and distribute to employees without computer access. Then, upload your employee’s results into the ECA online.
