FORCM Lawrence W. Sharpe

Force Master Chief Sharpe reported to Navy Facilities Engineering Systems Command February 2022 following a successful assignment as Command Master Chief at CTF68. Force Master Chief Sharpe is a native of Yale, Michigan and joined the Navy in September 1987. Upon completion of basic training and Builder “A” School in Gulfport, Mississippi, he was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTY FOUR in Gulfport, Mississippi. While there he deployed to Puerto Rico, Okinawa, Japan, and DESERT SHIELD/STORM. In 1991, he transferred to Naval Special Warfare Development Group where he was assigned as SEAL support and made numerous deployments in support of the command. He left active duty in October of 1994 and joined the reserve force and was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TWENTY SIX in Clemens, Michigan. In his civilian career he was a self-employed carpenter and excavating contractor, building residential homes in the metropolitan Detroit area.

In February of 2001, he transferred to Second Naval Construction BRIGADE in Little Creek, Virginia as Reserve Operations Chief where he returned to active duty. In November of 2001, he transferred to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (FIGHTING) FORTY where he was assigned as Detail Operations Chief Camp Pendleton, Quality Control Chief, Safety Chief, and Office in Charge of Detail Diego Garcia. In September 2004, he transferred to Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme, California as the Builder School Director and Alfa Company Commander. In September 2007, he transferred to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE Port Hueneme, California where he served as Assistant Office in Charge Detail San Clemente and Battalion Operations Chief. In January of 2009, he transferred to Naval Construction Battalion FOUR where he served as Battalion Operations Chief. His Command Master Chief tours were Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme 2011, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE 2013, Naval Construction Group ONE 2015, and CTF68 in 2019.

Force Master Chief Sharpe has earned his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, is a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Combat Warfare Specialist and his personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Joint Service Commendation medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and various unit and campaign awards. He and his wife Susan have four children: TSGT Samantha Sharpe Johnson, Alexandria Sharpe Miller, CTT2 Jessica Sharpe, CE2 Gregory Sharpe, two granddaughters Keaghan and Charlotte, and grandsons Malcom and Callum.
