Peter Lynch

Peter Lynch entered the Senior Executive Service in September 2020, and serves as the Assistant Commander for Public Works at the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command. He is responsible for Utilities Operations and Management, Facilities Management and Sustainment, Facility Services and Base Operating Support Contracts, Energy Resiliency and Management and Transportation Management. He delivers over $5 billon in services to the worldwide Navy and Shore establishment through 71 Public Works Departments that include over 11,000 civilian, military and contractor staff.

Prior to his current assignment, Pete was hired in April 2019, as a Highly Qualified Expert in the Navy’s Executive Service, where he served as Deputy Program Manager for the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, focused on program execution. From 2016 through 2019, Mr. Lynch worked with the Department of Energy's Office of Project Management, serving as the Team Lead within the Project Management Support Office for Environmental Management projects. Most notable was his role in the $16.8 billion Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant at Hanford, Washington. He was also engaged on other environmental clean up efforts at Hanford, and other projects at Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Idaho National Laboratory and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mr. Lynch served on active duty for 30-years in the U. S. Navy as a member of the Civil Engineer Corps. Completing his active duty service as the Director of Environment and Facilities (N4) at Commander, Navy Installations Command from 2014 to 2016, he also was the Vice Commander at NAVFAC Pacific from 2011 to 2014 and was the Commanding Officer of Facilities and Engineering Command Marianas from 2009 to 2011. He has received numerous awards throughout his military career including the Legion of Merit (four awards). Mr. Lynch has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Naval Architecture from the U. S. Naval Academy, and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and a Project Management Professional.
