NAVFAC Washington Awards Contract to Replace Chillers at Naval Support Activity Bethesda

WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington has awarded a $9,703,200 firm-fixed price contract to Cer, Incorporated, a small business based in Baltimore, Md., to replace chillers at Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington has awarded a $9,703,200 firm-fixed price contract to Cer, Incorporated, a small business based in Baltimore, Md., to replace chillers at Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
The work to be performed consists of replacing chillers 3-9 in Building 16 at Naval Support Activity Bethesda with new, nominal 1,500-ton centrifugal chillers. The corresponding primary chilled water pumps are also to be replaced, along with valves at the chillers and pumps. All new chillers, refrigerant monitoring, energy measuring devices, and control devices will be compatible and integrated with the existing plant control system.
The contract was awarded on October 5, 2021. All work will be performed in Bethesda, Md., and is expected to be completed by April 2023.
