SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest will host a digital hiring fair, June 26 through 27 online, to seek out positions to be filled at Naval Base Ventura County.
“It’s our hope that candidates will feel one step closer on their path to a federal career,” said Elise Magsarili, Human Resources director. “This is the first time the command will hold a virtual hiring event using a streamlined direct hiring authority designed to cut months off the normal federal hiring process!”
NAVFAC Southwest has more than 600 openings region-wide in 100 career fields. The virtual hiring event will focus on filling NAVFAC Southwest positions at Naval Base Ventura County. NAVFAC Southwest will be seeking experienced professionals along with electricians, high voltage electricians, painters, fire protection systems mechanics, maintenance workers, construction mechanics, engineering technicians, architects, and community planners, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning mechanics during the event.
Advanced registration is required. Tailored resumes must be submitted no later than June 19. Job seekers will have their resumes reviewed and critiqued beforehand, and if qualified will receive a video or phone interview the day of the event. Not all qualified candidates are guaranteed a virtual interview.
Federal service careers feature competitive salaries, more than 200 health care plans, paid time off (sick, vacation, and federal holidays), professional development, federal retirement plans, gym access, telework and flexible schedules (position dependent), and much more.
Assistance in resume writing and interview success are available for veterans and individuals with Schedule A disabilities job seekers.
