NAVFAC Washington Awards Civil Construction Contract for Naval Research and Development Establishment Commands

WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington awarded a $50,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Innovative Mechanical Contractors LLC, Westminster, Md., for general construction project tasks in support of Naval Research and Development Establishment (NRDE) commands in the National Capital Region.

WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington awarded a $50,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Innovative Mechanical Contractors LLC, Westminster, Md., for general construction project tasks in support of Naval Research and Development Establishment (NRDE) commands in the National Capital Region.

The work to be performed includes, new work, additions, alterations, maintenance, and repairs with minimal design requirements that will service future task orders at the Naval Research Laboratory, United States Naval Observatory, Marine Barracks Washington, Washington Navy Yard, and the Vice President’s Residence, National Military Intelligence Center, Washington D.C., the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock, Naval Support Activity Bethesda, the Naval Research Laboratory Chesapeake Bay Detachment, Md., and the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va.

An initial task order is being awarded at $2,000 to meet the minimum guarantee for the contract. Fiscal year 2022 operation and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $2,000 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The contract was awarded Sept. 29, 2022. Work will be performed in Maryland (50%), District of Columbia (30%), and Virginia (20%), and is expected to be completed by July 2027.
