Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis Report for
Munitions Response Sites UXO-003 and UXO-004 (Former Skeet and Trap Ranges) at Naval Support Activity Annapolis
Annapolis, Maryland

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY and PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

The Department of the Navy (Navy), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington, and Naval Support Activity (NSA) Annapolis, in cooperation with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), announces the availability of the following document for public review and comment:

Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA)
Former Skeet and Trap Ranges

The Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) describes the Navy’s proposed “non-time critical removal action (NTCRA)” to address environmental concerns at UXO-003 (former Skeet Range), and UXO-004 (former Trap Range). The Navy intends to remediate lead in the soil at the former small arms ranges through excavation, and offsite disposal of all lead-impacted soils to eliminate the need for institutional controls at the site and to ultimately support unrestricted future land use.

The public is encouraged to comment on this EE/CA. The NTCRA will be implemented only after the public comment period has ended. An alternative removal action may be selected after all comments have been received from the public.

Written comments on the EE/CA may be emailed to any of the following points of contact:

NAVFAC Washington, Public Affairs Officer
Attn: Regina Adams
regina.adams@navy.mil
(202) 685-0384
Maryland Department of the Environment, Land and Materials Administration
Attn: Linda Gustafson
linda.gustafson@maryland.gov
(410) 537-4238

After the EE/CA public comment period has ended, and comments have been reviewed and considered, the Navy, in partnership with MDE, will select a cleanup method.

For additional information, please contact the Public Affairs Officer at (202) 685-0384 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
