NAVFAC Pacific Awards $24 Million Task Order for Work in Philippines

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $24 million firm-fixed-price task order to Environmental Chemical Corporation, of Burlingame, California on Sept. 29 for runway repairs at Basa Air Base (BAB), Republic of the Philippines (RP).

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $24 million firm-fixed-price task order to Environmental Chemical Corporation, of Burlingame, California on Sept. 29 for runway repairs at Basa Air Base (BAB), Republic of the Philippines (RP).

“This project supports the U.S. Air Force and Philippine Air Force (PAF) in the conduct of Bilateral Air Contingent Exchange - Philippines (BACE-P), and Balikatan Exercises at BAB,” said NAVFAC Pacific Contingency Engineering Program Manager Stanley Shen. “It is critical to maintain mission ready status at BAB during heavy aircraft operations and high tempo periods such as during humanitarian and disaster relief operations.”

The work to be performed consist of repairing asphalt runway surface and demolition of existing overrun surfaces to base course. The project will also restore airfield and overrun markings per PAF requirements.

Work on this contract will be performed in the RP, with an expected completion date of August 2023.
